On Wed., Sept. 17th, Marc Gambrel has coordinated a dive with several others for the release of Paul Robards’ ashes. The jump will be out of the King Air in E-Town. The time will be around 6:30 p.m. This date would have been a celebration of our 26th wedding anniversary. Contact Marc or Jim Moore for further info. Would love to see everyone again, Susan

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence Hov’ring there
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I’ve topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.
My heart aches at his passing but I give thanks for having him as my nephew. He died doing what he loved. Now he truly is without earthly bounds and sees the skies from above.

I sure had fun at the Christmas Party! Thanks to Cindy and Lacy for the decorations. Who was that non-bearded guy anyway? Food was GREAT! Beer was plentiful. Sleeping arrangements were cold, guess that’s why everyone crawled on top of me in my bed (thanks, I appreciated it and what it meant). Anyone else have a hang over or was everyone talking too loud the next day? The DZ kids were cute as heck, guess Marlene and Chris mix well. Who made that salad like dish with those twisty Chinese noodles? I want the recipe!
Below I add some of the comments from others….

If you don’t know what the Fendelson is all about please go to Skydive KY web page about the Fendelson
First a few questions to be answered about this category.
- SHOULD WE KEEP THE FENDELSON AWARD or are Chris and Marlene the permanent holders?
- What should the new name be?
- Your feed-back please!

Since Greene County sport parachute center was closed on July 15, 2007, I’ve noticed all the e-mails going around and frankly it’s been very hard for me to keep track of the conversation considering the order in which they arrive. Frequently, I see the answer to the question before seeing the question and find myself looking through old e-mails to find the original question. If you are like me while you are looking for the original question you’ve found something else of interest and forgot what you were originally looking for in the first place!
If you had a similar experience you will probably enjoy this block. Everyone can now use this area to communicate back and forth their interests or whatever they wish to comment on and everything should generally stay in a chronological order of this making reading the comments and followed along in the discussions much easier.
However, if you don’t mind I would ask you to try to keep the PG rating. As this blog is visible to anyone who wishes to join in. If you have any suggestions on how to make the blog more fun for everyone. A new format and new topic photos, let’s see if we can make this a cool place for people to converse.
Everyone have fun!
